My name is Christopher, I have been playing guitar since I was 14 yrs old. My first real guitar was a Gibson Les Paul Custom black beauty my Dad got me for my 17th birthday. I have had four other Les Pauls come and go, I miss my Silver Les Paul Custom the most.... My main axe right now is an ESP Mirage Custom from the 80's w/24 fret ebony plank neck-thru. I have a 70's Fender re-issue strat with Noiseless pups and a few other frankenstiens and custom paint jobs lying around with an ESP bass guitar. I love playing and creating music with friends in my home studio. I play guitar, bass, drums and a little keys. I also write songs and sing.
Why this name?
It's just my monogram w/rox afterward, cuz I do rock!
Do you play live?
I LOVE playing out and meeting people. With my new band it is fun again! In Cassanova there was too much bullshit and too many egos to make it fun anymore. When it stops being fun, it's time to try something else. I became a home recording enthusiast, or for a more rock cliche, a recluse! I love playing and creating music with my home studio, and I don't have to leave home or pay anyone! A very special moment was having Howard Leese of Heart, come down and produce a demo of a band I was the lead guitarist in. It was awesome seeing one of my guitar heroes on the other side of the glass when I was recording!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
For the better! Now just about anyone with a little talent and a home computer can be heard. I love sharing with my buddies in cyberspace, I have learned alot from them and have met some phenomenal players out there!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No, not since I have seen what really happens behind the scenes. I would prolly sign with an Indie label and the right people. I have had friends who were signed to big labels and just watched them starve until they had to quit. It is a very tough business to survive in. Alot of musicians think if you get signed, you've got it made! WRONG! Getting signed is only half the battle, STAYING signed is the harder part.
Band History:
KoKopelli:

This is my new Rock en Espanol project. I LOVE playing in this band, everyone is very talented and very humble. I couldn't ask for a better bunch of guys to be with. We all get along great cuz we S-H-A-R-E everything. We all get paid the same and we all have a voice as to what we do or don't do. This band brought me out of semi-retirement!

Cassanova:

This is the band I was in that Howard Leese produced, and please note.. I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CRAPPY WEBSITE! )If it's still up) I just came up with the name for the band and co-wrote every original song on the disc. I don't like telling too many people about it, mainly cuz the website is such a big embarassment. It was one of the reasons for alot of the arguing, along with musical direction. The songs are good, there was just too much fighting, a major control freak and one too many egos flying around. Sad really....
Your influences?
Eddie Van Halen, Ace Frehely, Randy Rhoads, Michael Schenker, Tony MacAlpine, Vinnie Moore mostly old scool metal and shredders
Favorite spot?
Los Angeles, CA (where I was born)
