Randy is married to another Rena Lavette. Randy & Rena are a gospel duet, and reside in Tekamah, Nebraska where his sister and her family lives. Randy Foncree and his wife and singing partner do a combination of traditional and southern gospel, as well as some contemporary and comedy.

R & R's primary mission bring glory to God by wholesome and gospel music. Much of their music is in the style of Bill Gaither, or artists like them.

Randy is a recording engineer and producer, song writer, poet, playwrite, and author of children's material and comedic works. He has published three books and has done several audio recordings. Randy has had several of his songs on the radio, as well as was a DJ for WQSE Christian Station in White Bluff, Tennessee. He was there in the early nineties before he moved to East Tennessee. He lived in Tennessee until his former wife when home to be with the Lord in September of 2006.

Rena has sang with several groups as well as done solo work. She has directed children's and adult choirs. Over the years, she has joined herself with several community choruses as different places she has lived. Rena has a great voice and loves to sing for the Lord and see lives touched.

Message to the children: "There is nothing on this sight that is not God honoring. Be sure and listen to "I'm No Chicken Anymore" and "Did Adam Have a Belly Button." These are fun songs with a great messages. Children all across our great country love this song. God bless all the children who stop by here."

Why this name?
When Rena and Randy first got married and decided to sing together, because both their names begin with the letter "R", they chose to call themselves, "The R & R Gospel Duo."
Do you play live?
Randy & Rena love to sing anywhere the Lord opens a door. They sing in churches, fairs, weddings, funerals, and even civic event meetings and banquets if invited. Randy keeps people in stitches with his original and witted humor. One of their favorite places to sing is nursing homes. People in nursing homes are often times put there and forgotten about by family members, so they are a very appreciative audience. They love Randy's song entitled, "I'm No Chicken Anymore."
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet or MP3 capability changes the music industry drastically. It gives the non-professional musician an avenue to share their talents. R & R believes the opportunities for internet music are endless. They thank the Lord for giving men the creativity to invent this venue.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
R & R GOSPEL DUO would probably not sign with a major label.
Band History:
Randy & Rena were not raised in singing families, although they both had familly members who had some musical ability. As a youngster, Randy and his siblings would put together concerts in his garage for family members and friends. His sisters and him would sing the songs they learned at church.

Later on in life, Both Rena and Randy fulfilled that dream of being gospel singers when the Lord provided opportunities to sing in churches and other places.

R & R believes to be truly effective for the Lord's work, one must be willing to go wherever God sends.

I (Randy) got the opportunity to travel with a group that had their own tour bus. That was exciting, and we got to witness many souls being won to the kingdom of God. Rena also sang with several choruses and groups.
Your influences?
Gold City Quartet, Hills Songs from Australia, Phil Cross and the Poet Voices, the Singing Cookes, and Carmon. They're also fond of Vince Gill and the Oak Ridge Boys. Rena's favorites are Sandi Patti, Ernie Hass and Signature Sound, Steve Greene and Twila Paris.
Favorite spot?
Randy & Rena love to go to some of the places in the Northwest in Oregon. Rena lived there for years and it's an absolute beatiful place. They also enjoy amusement parks, and visiting uniques sites such as the Creation Museum and the Holy Land Experience in Orlando, Florida
Equipment used:
Cakewalk recording studio, with internal soundcard. Q-chord autoharp...it looks small, but R & R can make it sound like a band. This is a favorite with young children and nursing homes.
