What up y'all? My name is Catalyst and I make Christian Hip Hop music for Christ. I don't listen to secular music for inspiration or material. I only let my music be inspired by the Holy Spirit so that way I sound the way God wants me to instead of trying to match my sound to that of the world's. I hope y'all like the stuff on here and I will be uploading new songs as the Holy Spirit gives me inspiration to.
Why this name?
I chose the name Catalyst because I as a christian am acting as a Catalyst to the work of the Holy Spirit in peoples hearts. I help make it all possible by exposing people to the truth of Christ and His love, grace and mercy that surpass all human understanding. I had been struggling with trying to find a rap name for awhile but one day God just hit me with the name Catalyst and it has stuck ever since.
Do you play live?
I have once but I am not really in to it because I don't want people to start worshipping me instead of worshipping Christ. I hear alot of Christian rappers talking about how they are "So nice" etc and it just turns me off because the truth is the only way we can make music or rap well is because of God's power, not us.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yea if I wouldn't have to tour much and could concentrate on letting God create music through me
