Hello, dailyrave here.
I am an electronic artist working out of the midwest. I am currently not selling my music, I am only making it to learn more about audio production. My main goal right now is to use my music to get me into a good college!
Why this name?
When I was in 7th grade, I began a short email newsletter called "The Daily Rave" in which I put extremely random crap and only about two people got it. I only made about five issues, but it was kinda fun, I guess. For a seventh grader. Later on I began using it on websites as my username and right now I suppose it could be considered my artist name...
Do you play live?
I play with a small jazz combo called the "Hep Cats". We really just do it for fun, although we do get gigs once in a while (maybe about five per year?)
Anyway, I like it a lot, it's a great chance to learn more about jazz, which is certainly not my forte.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I must say that personally, the internet is solely responsible for my growth as an electronic musician. The wealth of information available is astounding. As for the hot issue of P2P and the like, I haven't really decided whether it's as bad as everyone makes it sound or not. In any case, I stopped doing it a long time ago...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
LOL, of course. I'm not even an indie artist yet.
Your influences?
I like BT a lot. And Aphex Twin even more. Mouse on Mars is another good one.
Favorite spot?
Boston, MA!
Equipment used:
I'm running on a PC with FL Studio 5 and a massive amount of free VST instruments and audio samples/loops that I'm constantly digging from the 'net.
Anything else...?
If you like my music, then email me!
If you hate my music, then email me!
I love feedback, comments, glowing compliments, constructive criticism, and destructive criticism.
