Please check out our new video trailers for "Charlie San Berdoo (There Goes The Neighborhood)" - coming in late 2009, we thought earlier but it takes a lot longer to film than we anticipated. Also coming in the future, "!hype" is going to put out a new book called "Unloved, Unwanted and Unwell" a no holding back history of what has happened in his life over the last ten years with his family and people in his life along with his personal struggles. He will share some of his darkest and most heartbreaking moments. You'll see that the drama he went through was so wrong. He's lived through some horrible experiences, letting him know the people he can really count on and the ones who never cared to begin with. Since 2001 he's become an "extremely" private person.

The cover was designed by the artist, musician and art director "ET" who is also into film directing and screenwriting. We own our own record company so we struggle more than ever to keep going, especially as of late - but as a band we keep going - now for almost 30 years! Our music ranges from hip-hop, to dance, pop, R&B, urban, rap and we throw in some rock and jazz. We have no limits. We are NOT a religious or gospel band, but we do some gospel energy once in awhile and include spiritual insight in some tracks; actually, we have been labeled one of the most controversial and most musically stylistic changing bands ever. Not only musically and lyrically but our lives and persons.

Why this name?
"!hype" is the band leader and the Hollywood Church is the band. It's a place you can be yourself as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. Hollywood, the place where dreams come true and no better place for a miracle to happen but in the Church! The band name was put together officially by Star, Tarm and "!hype" But "!hype" himself was named by the original drummer of the band Nuz, who taught "!hype" everything he knows about drumming and beats. "!hype" recalls, "When the Nuz was drumming, there was no better drummer in the world! I learned from the best!"
Do you play live?
We play live occasionally for special events. When we do play live, it will be an experience you will never forget. Our live performances are never the norm. We encourage audience participation and try to involve the audience as much as we can on some level. When you come see us it will be an experience you never can get out of your psyche for your entire life. There is no question - it's guaranteed. We have the knowledge to get inside your mind and soul.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Makes music more available to everyone. Increases exposure! SoundClick is one of the coolest websites period. I have to say after being on SoundClick for about three years, I'm very impressed, they have a very reliable site, great response, accurate song counts, they do their charts legit, they are friendly and keep their site always working efficiently - they really help the artist be heard, and be seen. Plus the people who work here aren't afraid to speak their mind - they are revolutionary. Thank you SoundClick - may you have continued success throughout 2008. Thank you for changing my life and allowing people to hear my music all over the world. : ) Thank you for allowing artists to promote themselves in an open free environment!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It all depends. We would love the added exposure and promotion and the ability for the world to hear our music. Having a label in some ways is a good thing to an artist but an artist must always be up on his business, always! I would sign to a major label if they gave me the creative control, power and money I need to make sure the music is definitely heard.

Your influences?
For some of "!hype's" musical influences please go to our MAIN website and look at about "!hype", many artists listed there but he likes almost everything including classical. Our styles are almost everything. We like to jam and have fun and let loose. We really like to let go. Let the spirit free and the music flow. God flow. It's time to party and spread good energy! We live such a short life, here and gone - so find some love and put on your favorite music on and enjoy yourself - and when ever you are happy - THANK GOD - I know it's hard to remember - but God is GREAT!!
Favorite spot?
Well from all the cities I've been in I prefer to be in Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, California - I am there (Palm Springs) frequently and hope to put our headquarters there someday although I love where I am now too in Southern California. San Diego is very relaxing, and San Francisco is beautiful. Originally from Chicago - the "windy city" but just can't help being spoiled by the beauty of California, the people, and the wonderful weather.

Also we are glad we have found "ET". Not only is "ET" one of the worlds best and most innovative artists. Respected by many of his peers and art lovers. But the coolest thing about him he might not tell you - but he can rap extremely well, he can throw down much better than you'd ever imagine. He doesn't sing bad either. "ET" is the most reliable person you can ever meet. A true, genuine and great friend. Forgiving, tolerant, patient, and loyal even if he thinks he's around "insanity" (for example, "!hype") - he is able to cope and stay around (most of the time, you people have never met "!hype" - he is one of a kind - is as different as he seems, beyond anything you can imagine, you've heard the music) - that is why "ET" is so trusted by "!hype".
