The All Golden is a "indie" rock/pop band with adventurous production from
Kent, Ohio. USA.
Why this name?
Purely aesthetic . . . or asthmatic
Do you play live?
Yes, Cleveland, Columbus, New York City, Toronto etc. . . wherever someone
will listen really
If you make it big..?
How do you define "make it big" ?
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It does give a better opportunity for artist to be heard. But with the
deluge of music on the internet it makes it all the more difficult to stand
out, and this isn't necessarily a bad thing.
.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
To sign with a major it would have to be an unusual situation, because
otherwise they will chew you up and spit you out, unless by some miracle,
you sell half a million albums and even then you don't know that your safe.
Independent labels are much more realistic and operate within a workable
framework.
Band History:
THE ALL GOLDEN

The All Golden was formed in Kent, Ohio in October of 1999 in the burgeoning indie-pop scene that spawned notables such as The Party of Helicopters, The Witch Hazel Sound, New Terror Class and Kramies. Chris Sheehan had most recently played in an incarnation of The Witch Hazel Sound in addition to assisting in the engineering of their 1998 critically acclaimed album, "It's All True". Scott Bennett was primarily known as owner of Waterloo Sound Recording and his engineering on albums by Harriet the Spy, The revelers, Gem, The Witch Hazel Sound and many others. Drummer Craig Lisik (Flying Carpet People) joined in early 2000.

Their first release was the fuzzy and driving "Velikovsky" 7" b/w the more sedate "This Guitar's Gone To Heaven" for the resurrected Bubblegum Smile label in March, 2000. The single met with immediate critical acclaim from The New Musical Express and Magnet Magazine and even garnered decent college radio play - including the Steve Lamacq Evening Session on BBC Radio 1 Great Britain.

"A record that chalks the sum of its parts on a blackboard and then proceeds to supersede them with unaffected ease ... 'Velikovsky' is a wind through the hair joyride through space"
- New Musical Express (2/26/00)

" The Ohio duo of Chris Sheehan and Scott Bennett sets the studio aglow with the chugging, Velvet Underground inspired 'Velikovsky'."
- Magnet Magazine (Volume 8, No. 45)

Subsequent touring included stops at New York City's Luna Lounge and Cleveland's Grog Shop. In the Fall of 2000, The All Golden returned to the studio with The Witch Hazel Sound's Kevin Coral to record a full length album.
