Heavens Air
I'm a solo performer and have been creating music for many years now . In this day and age of computers , technology seems to moving on at an ever faster pace and so much so that it's becoming increasingly hard to keep up . I dabbled with Reason software for a few years but since changing over to Apple computers i've been composing music through Garageband.
Why this name?
The name sounded calm and peaceful and so just seemed to stick .
Do you play live?
Playing live for me seems a pretty scary thought what with all of the things that could go wrong . I did have a chance a few years ago to perform in an electronic group but decided against it for various reasons ,i don't know if it was the right thing to do or not but that's life .
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes listening to music much easier and more accessible rather than having to go to a shop and physically have to get a cd to play .It`s also nice to be able to have pieces of work out there for people to instantly listen to no matter where they might be living , how exciting it is to know someone on the other side of the world is listening instantly to your compositions .
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I`ve had some interest from a minor electronica label in the UK and would definitely sign up once a firm offer was on the table . I had some interest from a Brazilian magazine a while back called Terapia Musical whereby they included one of my tracks on a free cover disc that comes with it ,basically the idea is that Music is harmonious with Relaxation. More recently i've had some talks with a U.S. based production company but nothing firm as yet.
Band History:
I remember being bought a Yamaha Mk100 as a young child and was hooked with playing music but it took a few years for technology to catch up and make it easier to get my ideas/compositions down.
Your influences?
I have a wide taste in music that ranges from Electronica to 80's Pop and then some Classical/Opera . Some artists i enjoy are Jean Michel Jarre , Vangelis , Tangerine Dream ,Pet Shop Boys ,Dj Tiesto , Armin Van Buuren and Sarah Brightman .
Favorite spot?
I travel around quite a bit and find that i can't just restrict my likes to just one place . I love big cities ,what with the noise of people and traffic moving around and find that i can relax in those environments . Some favourites are London , New York but i'm also just getting a taste for places North of the border such as Edinburgh.
Equipment used:
Originally i started off with Reason software running on an XP pc with a Radium 49 Midi Controller but then upgraded to a Mac & M-AUDIO Keystudio using Garage Band as my sole composition tool , i then dabbled with Logic, Reason (again) but really enjoy Garageband for the ease of use and so that's where i am presently.

takes me back to a place ....seems like forever ago! A place where I worked....laughed....we laughed so much....and this reflects it's soul....the place had a soul...angels and fairies danced there...an enchanted place.......Wayne.....you know where it is.....love the music.......
Greetings, Wayne! Just thought I'd let you know I have a new song called "Washington Needs Washing Down"
Thanks Wayne, that supergroup sound is exactly what I was going for on "Aurora" and also some of the tracks on the "First Orbit" concept (you can hear samples on cdbaby / iTunes etc).
Really enjoying your grooves in here, I've always liked that early T.D. & Vangelis ambience which you seemed to have captured very nicely.
Keep in touch,
Dun
Just passing by to say hello and to listen to some of your music, which is a great way of relaxing......enjoying! Keep up!
Love your sound!! So professional!
"Tamarind" and "A Nice Place" have the moodiness that I hear in my own head. Percussion in all your songs sounds so good. This music belongs in films!

Thanks for stopping by and introducing yourself. England has a special place in my heart, as I lived in Southampton (Hamble) for 2 years. That was about 30 years ago. Such a lovely country!

Peace,
janet
So many people have said to me why do i give away my songs for free and then expect them to pay for the mp3 download ,good question . I`ve now changed all of my tracks to the 2 minute edit and so if you want to hear more then you`ve got to pay ,ok . All tracks are available to listen to in full if you choose the lo-fi version option though .Happy listening and enjoy the new tracks which are soon to be followed by some more .
Hi Wayne, thanks for visiting! “A Nice Place” sounds cool – chilled groove with nice tinkly piano, good stuff, will definitely listen to more! Good luck with your music - Here’s hoping we all have a great 2006, with best wishes from Laura and Chris smile :) PS You can also check us out at www.myspace.com/laurabolle
Dear Heaven's Air,

Thanks for your kind words about the tracks on my soundclick page. I'm really flattered and thanks for listening.

I checked out most of your tracks and the musicianship is very, very good. I really liked the beat and sounds on Tomorrow's September Morning, but I think the best track is Tamarind - really dreamy and relaxing, just how I like my music. You should be very proud of this track.

Keep up the excellent work - I will pop back in the future to check out your new tracks for sure.

With best wishes.

Charlie
