This is where some of my beats live. I try to offer a good cross-section of all of the styles I incorporate. I use samples, live instruments, keys...some of everything. I suppose that sort of diversity is my signature.
Why this name?
I "orchestrate" beats. Do a lot of arranging for strings and such. I'm all about the arrangements. Sometimes they're busy. Sometimes they're simple. Just depends on what I feel the beat calls for.
Do you play live?
No, I'm a producer.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows you to expose your work to so many more people than you possibly could otherwise. The democratization, of course, means that much out here will be crap, but I'm not and have no intention of being among that group of people.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Producers work per project, so I'd do beats with a major, indie, whatever.....
Your influences?
Wow...Killing Joke, David Arnold, Public Enemy, David Axelrod, G-Unit, Gangstarr, Self, Beck, The Beatles (the first real samplers), Kanye West, Shawn Lane, Bill Laswell...you name it.
Favorite spot?
Scottsdale, AZ
Equipment used:
Nothing but Cakewalk Project 5, a few plug-ins, and a lot of ingenuity.
