Formed in very late 2002, Sadie Hawkins derives its sound from a deep love of indie, punk, and poprock music ranging from well known acts such as New Found Glory, Allister, and Ok Go to lesser known wonders such as Spiraling, Student Rick, and Count the Stars. Check back often for more material, and thanks for stopping by. Enjoy!
Why this name?
We started with 'Sexbook', which probably wouldn't fly with Wal Mart. Therefore, we settled on this name.
Do you play live?
Anywhere, everywhere. Last summer, we toured the entire east coast, meeting many awesome people along the way.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Though many bands are discovered by mp3s readily available, I don't know a single person who goes out and buys the groups' records. This saddens me greatly. On the other hand, many fans would not know about us had they not had a friend visit a link on someone's site or downloaded a song suggested to them.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course.
Band History:
Been around for a few months in this lineup/sound, but have been playing in bands together for at least 5 years or more. The sound just feels right this time.
Your influences?
Allister, Finch, Ultimate Fakebook, Sugar Cult, The Ataris, Homegrown, Dashboard Confessional, Phantom Planet, Rooney, Ok Go, Student Rick, Lit, Kara's Flowers, Prozzak
Favorite spot?
LA!!!!!!
Equipment used:
haha, we try to add moog/synths in every song, but it's basically the typical guitar/drums/bass/vocals setup, though we on-occasion bring in piano or sitar, etc. in the studio.
Anything else...?
Thank you so much for checking this out, and buy the record/come to our shows!!!!
