I use a G5 Imac, an old keyboard, my voice and a drumkit to create a homemade noise that varies around a few close genres. I'm a musically literate drummer, but and through the wonders of midi, moved on to create melodic rhythmic pieces. I use a mixture of performed and programmed beats, and multitrack my pieces to build baselines, harmonies and melodies. Some of the noise is quite 'Pop' but it's not ever going to be that popular.
