In March of 2000, "Brother Rob" Robertson coalesced a five-piece combo outfit of seasoned Alabama-based musicians and launched his solo debut entitled The Rob Robertson Combo: You're Comin' On Too Strong (Sundown Record #1003).

The EP was recorded in Birmingham, Alabama at Denial Studios and features "There's A Song In My Soul" -- Robertson's signature blues -- as well as a unique readings of longtime soul staples such as "Georgia On My Mind" and "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy."

The personnel in the Comin' On sessions consisted of Brother Rob on guitar & organ, accompanied by Sam Williams (tenor & alto sax), Ralph Lusian (guitar), Eric Simmons (bass), and Matt Kimbrell (drums).

A follow-up recording project, to be entitled A Closer Walk, is in progress. It will feature more of Brother Rob's signature brand of blues-meets-jazz-- this time around with a punchy two-piece horn section. Stay tuned for further info on the upcoming release date and tourdates.
