Just me - pushing 50. Music is somewhere between love and obsession.
Why this name?
No choice, it was the name given to me by my parents. The "an" in Stephan makes it hard; even DMV couldn't get it right.
Do you play live?
As much as I can. Around the North Carolina Sandhills. There is nothing like live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The music that's out there is amazing! It gives access to anyone who wants to be heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No. Definitely not. I have to tell them no everyday. They just won't leave me alone.
Your influences?
Everybody I've heard. You take it, store it away, and pull it out just when you need it.
Favorite spot?
May Street Market in Southern Pines, NC. A great place to play or to hear great music.
