We play mainly instrumentals in Bluegrass style on the guitar and mandolin (Chris) and the fiddle (Rose).
Why this name?
Hale is our name and we are a family of father mother and son.
Do you play live?
We seldom play live except for contests in mandolin, guitar and fiddle. Chris won the 2005 Doc Watson guitar championship and 2nd in the Merlefest mandolin championship before that.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is very nice to find songs and tunes to listen to in mp3 format.

Chris is a PhD student at Virginia Tech in Economics. He graduated in 3 years with BS and a honors degree summa cum laude.
