Welcome to the home of my solo instrument recordings. This is the site for the solo and jazz band work of myself, Jake Posega. I've been playing the electric bass for over two years now, so that's mostly what you'll hear here, as well as 5 new tracks from the Keweenaw Area Jazz Band.
Why this name?
Well, I didn't, my parents did! It's my name from birth, Jacob Paul Posega. Most people call me Jake.
Do you play live?
I have not played the electric bass live as a solo instrument, however I do frequently play with the Keweenaw Area Jazz Band, as well as the Hancock High School bands live.

I love the vibe you get from being on stage, it's so fulfulling knowing your message is being heard, and you're delivering it in person.

My favorite moment was being awarded a Certificate for Outstanding Musicianship at the Univ. of Wisconsin - Eau Claire Jazz Festival this past spring for a solo I performed in the jazz band. It was quite an honor.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I believe that the ability to download music has opened up many people to bands that they may have never gotten into otherwise. I know it has helped me get ahold of some of my current favorite artists.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If things were right, I most certainly would jump at the chance to get majorly heard.
Band History:
I've been playing the electric bass for over two years, and have been at the trombone for around 7 years. I also dabble on acoustic and electric guitar, as well as keyboards and tuba.
Your influences?
I'll just list my tops: Primus, Black Sabbath, C2B3, Metallica, Slayer, Audioslave, RATM, Jaco Pastorius, and much, much more. It ranges from acoustic folk, to screaming death metal, to jazz.
Favorite spot?
Wherever my heart is happiest.
