A bunch of my lil' cousins and I were just free-stylin' for fun one day a couple of years ago, and I spit this name out at random, sticking with it ever since. It just stuck with me I guess. It's not all crazy and elaborate, but I think it's one that most people won't forget.

Internet mp3 downloading has helped at bit in music promotion and distribution, and it's provided a pretty cool way for listeners to hear artists' music before buying an album, but it has also opened up a new pathway for people to steal music without buying it or taking the ideas from the musicians...kinda defeats the purpose of just buying the album in the store and seeing if you really like it.

MIXMASTA212 started out with the unsigned gospel rap group S.O.C. with cousins Lil' Stylz (Richard Hughes), Lil' C (Chaz Wells), and Shawty (Shantel Neely) in 2003 just for fun. The group made one album (Live-Life-Live-Christ) in that year for local public and relatives, but they seperated when the three co-members had to move out of town for their parents' job seekings and opportunities. Striving to keep the game alive and getting serious about his craft, MIXMASTA212 then decided to continue rapping solo with Sonya Rucker (aunt), Alexandria Barnes(cousin), and Amber Jones(cousin) as frequent backup vocalists. He now writes all of his own music and lyrics, occasionally with the help of Alexandria. Currently unsigned and indie, MIXMASTA212 is steadily pushing towards getting heard by tha bigg dawgs out there this year and getting his career jump-started. His first solo album "Tha Rejuvenation Projekt" was completed in January of 2005 and is now being streamed in the media section of the profile. Look for it's official release some time within the next 2-3 months.
