Why this name?
Our name is Megaton MCs because we are out to represent the music of a world in which there has been a musical apocalypse. Our rhymes and our beats will bring about the destruction of the industry's manufactured music like so many megatons of dynamite.
Do you play live?
We have played live, but not as a collective. It's been mainly basement performances and impromptu sessions.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It changes it for the better. It sticks it to the big names who get all the attention in the media, while providing a new way for those small indie artists to be heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Even though I hate the state of the industry and the way the major labels play, yes I would have to if given the opportunity, after all, Cash Rules Everything Around Me.
Band History:
A group of friends with a love for music from differing backgrounds all acquired 0 dollar producing software. Delving into what was once an impossibility, we explored and experimented with creating beats and music, and then later recording vocals and live instrumentation.
Right now we are a motley crew of people, but when the time is right and we come together to focus, our impact can be desvestating.
