I've been mixing techno for about 7 years now, and my music has begun to take its own shape, I've gotten my sound down to where anyone can hear my music and tell that its me. I have always like all the styles of electronic dance music and I've always tried to mix them all up in a big sonic blender and see what comes out.
Why this name?
Its what I was always called... Joe Smo.
Do you play live?
I do play occationally, mostly on internet radio.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Now its about the songs and not about concept albums. People now have access to specific songs they like so now an artist must focus on the songs as an individual unit rather than a piece of a puzzle.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends on the deal regarding the contract. Anyone would love to make an excellent living from making music, but at what creative cost? That's the question.
Band History:
Began mixing in my bedroom handing demo cd's out to everyone I know until three years ago with the full release of 'Forward'. I don't believe that to be close to what I can do. 'Forward' is more of an ambient, progressive album and a complete contrast to my latest release, 'Audial Stimulants'. 'Audial Stimulants' represents my music turning towards the direction I was aiming to go. Now that I've found the path, the next releases will be amazing.
