I'm a solo artist. Not to say I wouldn't play with another person though.
Why this name?
I have no name yet, but I do have one in mind........I don't want to go by "Russell Ollerton." It sounds so braggish, like "look at me, my name is on a cd, I'm the center of attention!"
Do you play live?
Never have OFFICIALLY. I did in front of some girls and they seemed to enjoy it, and once for extra credit in english. I do plan on it though.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I don't know, I'm guessing it helps a lot.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
yeah sure, then I could afford to record in a commercial studio.
Band History:
I got into White Stripes which cleared the path for all the other bands I listen too, including Silverchair which got me obsessed with music in the first place. I wrote my first song "Everyone is Gone" the summer of 05. Then I recorded it in my kitchen with a 20 dollar mic. Then I recorded it with better stuff at a friends house which inspired me to buy my own semi pro stuff and record an album. It should be out this early autumn.
Your influences?
Silverchair, White Stripes, Guster, Dan Fogelburg, Coldplay, girls, fog, the beach, pain, happyness, the gospel of Jesus Christ, Nightime, morning, coldness, family, friends. And the list goes on.
Favorite spot?
Half Moon Bay!
Equipment used:
A pair of ADK Hamburgs, a Mackie CR1604 16 channel mixer, and a computer. I was using a 8 track reel to reel but it's broken.
