I am a humble underground rapper. I love and breath the artform, and try to apply alot of missing elements to my music, such as creativity. I have released two mixtapes "Willy Wonka's Hip Hop Factory"...And "Back 2 Bizniss". Being a Hip Hop head from the south isn't easy at all that is why my main focus is to gain your attention and keep it with my rhymes.

Why this name?

I switched names a buncha times before i was satisfied, i just wanted to put words together that sounded cool to me at the time so i came up with Optmist.At the time i wasn't there was alot of rappers using that name so i made a minor adjustment to the name.I dropped the "I" from the word(OptImist)and turned it into Optmist.Pronounced Op-Tuh-Mis.

Im Working on a New Project"The Pre-Requesite Mixtape, and I'm about to go on a 2month open Mic Promotion tour..

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

In a way, the internet ruins the music industry. Alot of Music gets downloaded, but at the same time everyone has a chance to get their sh*** heard.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes,but I would rather make my own money without getting raped in the end like most of these labels do to rappers. Private ownership of my own company or label is my end goal.

Band History:

I'm a solo artist, started out doing this for fun in school, battling and freestyling. Then i decided to make it a serious thing later on. I rep my crew called the "Audiobots"...Also a #Vngsociety Affiiliate.

Your influences?

I would say that my music is real and a little more lyrical. I come from an era where niggaz crafted their own style. My music is 100% me. Its a reflection of whatever i feel when the beat drops. I love Southern hip hop, and i'm mostly influenced by some of the most creative rappers out there.

Equipment used:

I recorded my first mixtape using Cool Edit 2.0. My second Mixtape I recorded using a mixture of Cool Edit and Pro Tools.
