BIOGRAPHY
Dreamlike Horror is something more than just the horror project of Deadly Kristin and Aphazel of Ancient. It is a scary voyage into the most obscure corners of the human soul, where all the secret fears and dreadful visions hidden in our subconscious dwell and reveal themselves. The music as well as the dramatic lyrics, can be described as very emotional and poetic, in every part of it there is a lot of suffering, dark sensations, pain. The result is a world of atmospheres that would easily take the listener into a ethereal dreamy dimension, an infinite fall into the abyss of sadness and meditation. The first part of “Delightful Suicides” was realized and suffered during the cold winter and rainy spring nights of 1999-2000 into a humid medieval house, settled in the heart of the Italian Pre- Alps. The silence, the melancholy and the decay of those ancient walls, so full of memories and history, have been a great source of inspiration and created the right atmosphere for composing the album.
The concept of Dreamlike Horror is not recent though. It has been wandering into Deadly Kristin’s wounded mind for years and years.
Years in which she used to express her life’s sickness and melancholy through lyrics, poetry and contemplation. A way to defeat fears, demoralization and sadness. All those deep emotions could only be transformed into musical experience thanks to the help of a talented musician such as Aphazel. Only a person, that was so close to Kristin, could manage to enter her feelings and give form to the riffs and tunes she had in mind. Without his help and work Dreamlike Horror would have never existed, but in Kristin’s twisted mind.
In november 2004 Dreamlike Horror signed a deal with Sleaszy Rider records from Greece and decided to record new songs and finally put "Delightful Suicides" on the market, as a full length album.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Noone buys cds anymore when they can download the songs for free. I think internet gives a great oppurtunity for promotion and let your music get out there in the world, but I still think that it is damaging the music industry.I think people who like an artist should buy original cds.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes of course, if they give me a good deal
Favorite spot?
