Why this name?
We used extensive marketing and research methods, and polled our fans on various names. We ended up choosing Cinged Blues, because of our lead singers blues influence.
Do you play live?
We are usually alive when we play. We tried being dead, but no one showed up and it felt really freaky.

House concerts are some of the funnest moments, close to the fans and very intimate.

We play mostly in the Washington DC area, and Northern Virginia.

Funniest moment was when our drummer was playing a solo on an African log drum when the stand fell. The drum fell to the floor, and Charles followed it down on his knees, continuing to play. The rest of the band was laughing really hard.

Special Momoments:
Last week, at a gig, we had a drunk guy interrupt our set at a festival. It was his 50th birthday he wanted everyone to know. So on a whim we played happy birthday for him and got the crowd to sing along while he danced. He felt special I'm sure.

The best moments are when people sing along, cheer and whistle at the end of a song, call you back for an encore, hold hands during a love song...all those touch feely things.

One other best moment is getting paid after a gig. We like those a lot.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We really think, most of our thoughts are simple accidents. (get it?, "Accidental Genius" our CD title).

The internet has been fantastic at helping spread the word about our band. We are big fans of the Internet.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
You know, we might sign under certain conditions.

However each band member is a millionaire and we all travel around the world on private jets.

Thousands of fans come to see us play and even travel simply to hear us practice in our custom designed practice studio, located in Colorado.

I'm just not sure a major label could help us that much.
Band History:
Cinged Blues creates original music that will bring a smile to your face one minute, make you ponder parking lot protocols another minute, and even venture into the questions of life before they are finished.

Bottom-line: It’s non-fattening music with tasty lyrics that leave you feeling satisfied and looking forward to your next feeding. Try it, you’ll like it.

Lead vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Cindi Slaughter warms the audience with her soulful and bluesy vocals, rhythmic guitar and quirky comments. With an affinity for blues and jazz chords, she sneaks them in any chance she gets.

Drummer/percussionist Charles Gluck chimes in, not missing a beat with the on stage banter or his creative rhythms. Whether he’s playing kit, Djembe or an african log drum, Charles finds endless ways of incorporating his early childhood influences from living in West Africa into the Cinged Blues sound.

Keyboardist/songwriter Jennifer Gluck "tickles the ivories,” adding catchy melodic hooks, noodling piano solos, and cool organ groove to the mix. She shows her musical versatility by adding in lead vocals, harmonica solos, percussion rhythms and the Cajun sounding mysterious “green thing” on selected songs. With Jennifer and Charles around, Cinged Blues will never be called routine music.

Bassist Michael Brown brings stability and foundation to the group. He keeps Cinged Blues locked into the groove while occasionally revealing his own melodic gems in just the right spots. And, will even jump in for some irresistible four-part harmony.
Your influences?
Cinged Blues repertoire includes other local and famed artists such as Mary Chapin Carpenter, Suzy Bogguss, and Bonnie Raitt, but the band's performances are intended to share their songwriting talents with music fans.

Be it rockin' blues, a gentle ballad, or a folksy diddy, Cinged Blues incorporates a range of musical genres woven with great melodic hooks, smooth vocal harmonies, and a live show that never ends without a little comic relief. For example check out the hidden soundtrack on the CD.
Favorite spot?
Center Stage anywhere works well for us.
Anything else...?
Cinged Blues combines compelling songwriting, superb musicianship, wonderful harmonies, and a cool groove to offer one of the finest CDs released in the past year. It certainly doesn't hurt that their disc was produced by perennial Wammie award-winning Producer of the Year, Marco Delmar. This is a show you won't want to miss.
