I'm just a young guy starting out on his own and having some fun. A lot of this stuff is just demos right now...trial and error stuff. Check back for updates. Feedback is always welcome.
Why this name?
The "band" name is "Simply Philthy" because it's just me and I got the nickname Philthy in college through a frat. Yeah yeah...so clever :P.
Do you play live?
Not really. I have, but not for a while.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's opened things wide open. One argument is that the individual artist suffers, but I think they'll just have to be smarter. The business is changing and it'll revolutionize the music industry.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
sure
Band History:
Um, I was born in 1980 and as a little kid, I didn't play any instruments, except for piano (I can play chopsticks and yankee doodle :P). However, I used to use a bandmitten raquet as a fake guitar, pots and pans as fake drums, and a wooden spoon as a fake microphone. Then I would hold concerts in front of my stuffed animals.

Yeah, half of you reading this probably did something similar as a kid, so shut up ;).
Your influences?
I don't know, really. I've always enjoyed being creative and music was another avenue to do that. My favorite artists are probably bands like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Beatles, REM,...I dunno. I like bands that are melodic.
Favorite spot?
Well, I'm originally from Seattle, so I'm gonna go with that.
Equipment used:
Just an accoustic or electric guitar, a Fostex MR-8 five track recorder, and occasionally a crappy keyboard I picked up for free. Yeah, pretty amateur, I know.
Anything else...?
All feedback/comments welcome! If you hate my stuff, though, please try to be professional in your feedback. Give me some tips on how to improve. I'm just trying to have fun and get better :). Thanks.
