Why this name?
It came from All Rivers End. Just the idea that a river is symbolic of the flow of life. It was something that you can't really label as a genre-specific name and you can interpret it anyway you want.
Do you play live?
We play live around the Hudson Valley in New York and Also in Connecticut. Every moment we play a show is special. We like to have lots of energy and a lot of space, so we can jump and run and move all over. PJ happens to be a very high jumper.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has allowed us to expose our music to many more people without the help of a label. Being able to share all different kinds of media is great. We are also very happy to have fans of our music from Europe and Asia. This wouldn't have been possible, even in the 90s.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not at this point in time. We want as much control of the music as possible. We're currently looking at about 20 mid-sized labels.
Band History:
In the middle of 2002, a Poughkeepsie, NY band called The Getaway signed to Epitaph Records and and was forced to change it's name. At the same time a band called Last Kyd Picked from Connecticut was about 5 months old and had been invited to play 3 dates on the Goldfinger, Story of the Year and Allister tour. LKP played melodic hardcore similar to New Jersey's Kid Dynamite. As the Getaway was signed and became Matchbook Romance, they asked PJ Manzo (current Rivers End guitarist) to leave. A couple months later, PJ joined up with LKP who became Rivers End a year later. Gian, the original drummer, and Difran, one of the guitarists, left to pursue other projects. The newest member, Steve, became the drummer in July of 2004.
