Das War was created in late 2001 in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Ryan Reedy of (Adonaii, Code) and Tommy "Lariat" Jones of (Abduksion, Ghost In A Shell) decided to join forces and create a passionate metal project with a focus on layered guitars, atmosphere and song structure. Thus began the birth of Mindless Contraption. The full length album was then set into motion in 2003. The bands influences range from (Meshuggah, Living Sacrifice, Fear Factory, Deftones, Tool) etc. Mindless Contraption was recorded, mastered, produced by the band at Das War Studios founded in early 2005. Mindless Contraption contains a few special guests such as Dustie Waring of Between the Buried and Me laying down a guitar solo in End of the Matter. As well as a few samples from ValveSoftware's Half Life 2 found on Reverance, and the critically acclaimed hit for Xbox 360 Bioshock in their brutal epic Creation Evolution Destruction. Adam Cody of Glass Casket, as well as Danny Burton of Ghost In A Shell will be laying down vocal tracks on the upcoming re-release of Mindless Contraption.

Das War's song Manifesto helped them to rise to 3 out of (25,575) songs on the metal charts at www.soundclick.com. within one week of the release online.

Why this name?
The term "Das" is is derived from German language. "Das" can mean many things such as "I," "That," "This," and many more words.

The term "War" is used when one thing is putting an end to another, or is about to do so. "War" can also be used to refer to something that was, or use to be.

By putting the two words together, we have created a phrase meaning "I, That Which Was, Am Coming."
Do you play live?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We can not say no to the possibility, but as of right now being independent allows our creativity to grow, and we like our current situation.
