All Known Aspects
NEWS
AKA has recently recorded 2 new tracks ("Common Ground" and "Smoke & Mirrors") to now offer a free 5-track demo disc. Work is already in progress on their newest track which is currently titled "Sapphire". The word is that it will be a modern day reincarnation of Bach's renowned "Fuge in D-Minor" (better known to most as the original Phantom of the Opera overture).

Presenting a style that is truly an emotional & artistic manifestation illustrated through their distinctive electronic vision, AKA employs music as their method of examining & interpreting life and the essence of human consciousness in a way that could never be expressed through words alone. While lyrics often convey fixed ideas, feelings & emotions, AKA’s approach allows their audience complete interpretive freedom – thereby reaching out to a much wider range of potential fans. Driven by this belief, much of AKA’s material is instrumental - allowing the music itself to impact the listener on a personal & emotional level instead of only what is presented through lyrics. In this way, the same track never has the same specific meaning for two different people. Though their singular style and purpose set them apart from today’s onslaught of “mainstream-ready” bands, AKA is taking bold & confident steps toward breaking new ground in the music industry - and are finding themselves welcome.
Why this name?
Initially, the group was named "FACE VALUE", but we stayed open to new ideas since it felt a little too "80's" sounding. WiKiD eventually named the band after seeing the AKA acronym on a license plate somewhere. Considering a number of different interpretations, we finally all agreed on "All Known Aspects" as we felt it best represented our style and direction.
Do you play live?
We're preparing to make our live debut this month after a year of writing material and feeling our our creative direction. As all 3 of us are experienced musicians, we like nothing more than playing in front of a crowd - any time we have the opportunity - as it teaches us a lot about our music and its effect on others.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
With as easy as it is for people to use the Internet to promote their band/music, it can very often be a clutter of faceless, nameless people sharing a common dream but essentially going nowhere. However, if utilized properly, the Internet can be an indispensable tool an artist or band needs to achieve mainstream success. Unarguably, the Internet is the best way for rising artists to reach out globally as opposed to only locally - and fairly soon (if not already), a band or artist will not be considered career-minded without a solid web presence.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Our decision to sign with a record label would depend heavily on a number of different factors we would have discuss in detail before comitting to anything, but any opportunity that allows us the ability to introduce our style to others are ones we rarely refuse.
Band History:
Emerging from Columbus, Ohio’s thriving rock and metal scene, AKA steps forward to contribute a completely original electronic style designed to take the music industry by storm. Established in mid-2004, AKA brings together the talents of Shidoshi (former DJ & EM composer of the renowned rock band LIVID) along with visionary Electro-Rock artists WiKiD and Hobbs. An electronic project similar in style to The Crystal Method and Stabbing Westward, AKA demonstrates their versatility by incorporating elements of Rock, Hip-Hop & World influences to develop their innovative style. The trio is currently preparing to enter the studio to record their debut album and is already laying the foundation for an extensive East Coast promotional tour later this year.
