I am CoCoaBella. An artist that sings, raps, songwrites, and I also play instruments. I am the culmination of the millenium artist. Fashion-foward, business oriented, and multi-talented. But I know i don't have to sell myself to you! The music will speak for itself. I recently moved back to my hometown (new york city) from Atlanta, and I'm ready to go to the next level! Why this name?
Well, people have always told me that I have beautiful chocolatey skin. That's the cocoa. And then Bella means beautiful in Italian, and it gives the perfect image of me-- a little girly, but a lil gangsta as well. You like it???
Do you play live?
I love performing. I've only done local talent shows so far, but in college I had a radio/internet show where I did perform. I loved that show. I had a lot of ggod times there...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet changes the music industry in such an enormous and positive way. Giving anyone anywhere access to all sorts of music and resources. It's priceless!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. But only under my terms. I REFUSE to get jerked. Plus my sis is an attorney!
Your influences?
My idol is Kelis. I love her music, and her willingness to be daring to take music to another level. From when she came out until now she has been lightyears ahead of all these R&B bi***es... Other influences include: Big, Pac, Common, Pun, Nas, Foxy, Harold melvin and the blue notes, Etta James, Fela Kuti, Jill Scott, Miles Davis, Erykah Badu, Outkast, Dela Soul, T.I, Jay Z, Pink, Mobb Deep, Sizzla, Buju banton, Bob Marley, Etc.
