Why this name?
I got the nickname T.r.E.E. from some kid in my 12th grade English class because I'm tall (6 foot 5). Then suddenly everbody started calling me TrEE, even the teacher. When I decided to start rapping I decided I'd use that name and make it stand for "The Realest Emcee Ever" because I don't try to be anything I'm not, unlike a handful of emcees.
Do you play live?
You can go in the back of best buy and sometimes I'll play the keyboards. You can come and watch me if you want.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it nice for underground artists, and it makes the mainstream artists try harder because now we can liten to their music before we buy it and it better be good.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I suppose so, but I don't really care.
Band History:
I started off rhyming with my "friend" Strata-G and we had a group called Komatose around 2000. We made like 3 songs then I decided to go solo because he wanted to make some rap that will gain respect and I just wanted to make music that I didn't stress myself out making like he did.
Your influences?
I don't sound like these people, but in some way they inspired me whether it be musically or personality wise: Kool Keith, Outkast, Natas, Mindless Self Indulgence, Dashboard Confessional, Pharcyde, The Cure, Mike Patton, John Zorn, Canibus, Ras Kass, Chino XL.
Favorite spot?
Anyplace with a nice girl.
