Through a haze of 80's rock, love, life, addiction, infatuation and lack of sleep, 4 guys and a girl have come together to get their ya ya's out. If they only would have listened to their mothers' warnings they wouldn't be in this mess. Dallas, Texas based but built for the world.
Why this name?
In the movie "Rumble Fish", this guy turns to Matt Dillon and says about the Motorcycle Boy, Mickey Rourke, "Man, your brother is like Royalty in Exile." Sounded pretty cool.
Do you play live?
Royalty in Exile is a bit shy. If we can convince our drummer that he will be safe, we may venture into the land of the living.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows bands to be heard above (or below) the corporate white noise.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Only if we are offered one.
Your influences?
Van Halen, Prince, Dokken, Blondie, RHCP, Creed, The Pretenders. But we don't sound like any of them.
Favorite spot?
Chicago. Downtown at night, Wrigley Field during the day.
Equipment used:
Strat, P-Bass, Roland Virtual Studio, Line 6 Pod, pots, pans, etc.
