KingKali does reggae the way no one else is doing it. Music to dance to jam to and just all around good music. Consisting of members El King and Kalito. KingKali is part of the bigger MaDuro Produtions. That is basically Young dominican latinos in louisiana trying to make is in the music buisness. Producing writing and recording every thing we do all on our own. Mah duro also does R/B Salsa and merengue with other Artist Wiso Kamino and Female vocalist Lisa
Why this name?
Well the member are El King and Kalito so naturally KingKali nothing fancy short and simple.
Do you play live?
Yes, At local clubs and parties. Preforming is the best part. It gives us a chance to reach out to the masses and hopefully add on to our fan base. Plus we jus plain wild and like attention.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It lets a more people hear your music. The more that hear it, the more that can judge it and the more that can see that KingKali is the truth
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course, but we will not change our sound. Not to say we are not open to new things ( we are) but we still have to remain true to our selves and our fans
Band History:
Well, before we were members of another local group that unfortunatley split up. But this was a blessing in disguise we then decided a duo would get more things done and would be less complicated. The fact that we're cousins dons't hurt the chemistry either.
Your influences?
Anthony Santos, Raulin, Grupo Mania, Tego,MalaFe Baby Rasta y Gringo, Wisin Y Yandel,Jay Z, Eminem, Boyz to Men, basically where a fan of good music that is soothing or can make you dance
Favorite spot?
New Orleans
Anything else...?
We are 100% Dominican. This is important because we try trhough push our culture through our music. Wether it be slang ,dialect, or jus dealing with problems we often face
