Welcome to the world of KATO-BEATS. Born of Nigerian parents, he has been makin beats since the age of 13. Through years of practice, he has become KING of North Carolina with production. This will be his canvas to display his works of art to the world.
Why this name?
KATO...derive from my original name..KING ARTHUR. My production company is KAMALAT, and I run it, so I'm like the king. I don't just make beats...I paint pictures with my beats...like an orchestra. King-Arthur-Tha-Orchestrator of BEATS. KATO-BEATS MAYYNN!
Do you play live?
Yes, I do play the SAX and drums live for open nights at a local jazz club. I love to play live because it gives me ideas for my beats....especially the drums. I've been playing sax for over 14 years now, and drums for about 8.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
One day, there will be Majors (big record labels) selling MP3's exclusively on the INTER-WEB. It's just quicker to release on the web now or days.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Short term...maybe. Long term is out of the question...unless I have total creative control and ownership of my music (that will probably NEVER happen in this lifetime)
Your influences?
Everybody who has made good music.
Favorite spot?
Charlotte, North Carolina....downtown area. We have a lot of potential to do big thing musically, untapped market.
Equipment used:
Using Midi controllers, constantly changing music software, but use a lot of VST's. Look out form me on Futureproducers.com.
Anything else...?
If your beats ain't bangin, buy sum from me. That'll sove ur problem!
