14corners is an alternative rock/punk/indie band from Glasgow, Scotland. Shane Simmons and Stevie McEwan both play guitar and sing. Stuart Donald plays bass and John Gordon plays drums. The current line up has been together since October/November 2004, although the band previously existed in other incarnations.
Why this name?
It sounded good at the time.
Do you play live?
We'll play pretty much anywhere that'll have us.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes the band more accessible, and allows listeners far more opportunity to find new music than before. Playing a gig to 100 people is fair enough, but the internet gives bands an audience of potentially millions.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Possibly, if we got the deal that was right for us.
Your influences?
A simple description would be that 14corners play uncomplicated, catchy rock songs...part Ash, part Ramones, Idlewild, Misfits, Libertines. That sort of thing.
Favorite spot?
Glasgow.
Anything else...?
