Old songs by the artist formally known as the P-I-K... Who is he now? You'll never know! These are all songs I made between 1998 and 2002.
Why this name?
its origin was graf, but who even knows.
Do you play live?
I DJ live... But I have alter egos nowadays. Not like a gimmick kind of thing--I just have a different taste nowadays than I used to.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think its f***ed the music industry. I don't really like new hiphop close to as much anymore because everyone does it. The internet played hiphop out for sure. Now I have to filter through all the generic stuff myself instead of someone else like Evil D and Bobbito and record labels doing it for me. There's too much hiphop out... and it all sounds the same to me now.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Hell Yeah!! I'd do anything they wanted and you'd probably end up hating me.
Band History:
Veteran producer... this is the old shit. Old name, old songs, old taste. I'm old.
Your influences?
DJ premier, Buckwild, Panik, Lord Finesse, Pete Rock, Large Proffesor, Havok, Alchemist.
Favorite spot?
I love Manhatten, but Toronto's a dope city too and I relate more to Toronto culture... I'm used to Hamilton and it's my city so of course that too.
Equipment used:
roland mc303 groovebox, mpc, shitty gli direct drive turntable, stanton mixer, computer.
