Equilibrium, by Stuart A. Kirk.
A beautiful, thoughtful, and, soulful solo collection, written, recorded, and produced by singer/songwriter/artist Stuart A. Kirk. 'Equilibrium' comprises ten songs, all very personal, about love and regret in a bluesy, popsy, rocky, folksy kinda way, loaded with style and invention. 'Equilibrium' is about love, devotion, bitterness, recrimination, sadness, loneliness, hope, regret; a human, trying to cope with being.
Stuart composes with guitars, basses, pianos, strings, horns, and a range of other instruments and sound generators. The album was written, recorded, edited and mastered by the artist himself within the office/studio space at his home in Japan.
All the artwork and design for the album is also credited to Stuart A. Kirk. His work is truly independent.

Why this name?
It's my name.
Do you play live?
No I don't play live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has been fantastic for musicians and listeners alike. It maybe hasn't been so good for the big record companies. I hope it gets worse for them because they strangle music and invention.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No I wouldn't. If they think I'm that good then I could sign for anybody or do the whole damn thing myself.
Your influences?
My music has been compared to John Lennon, George Harrison, Neil Young, Beck, New Order, Richard Ashcroft, to name but a few. I listen to all kinds of stuff, including the above mentioned artists. I also listen to a lot of traditional ethnic music.
Favorite spot?
My favourite place is Shomyouji shrine near where I live here in Japan. There's a photo of it included in the inside sleeve of my Equilibrium CD. It's a very tranquil place.
