One day Jamie and Daniel were walking down a hill. In course of their discussion the phrase "grab it. Phone you." was uttered. It sounded funny so they kept saying it until the words lost all meaning and then some weeks later, decided to use it as their bandname...!! (It's a stoner thing)

Nope. It's "Grab It And Run Records" all the way!

Grabbit Phonya started when four friends got together to enter their school talent show. There was Daniel (vocals/guitar), Jamie (drums), Shorty (lead guitar) and Turner (bass/vocals).

It went rather well so they kept practising and
played their first real gig that summer, in a small bar in Belfast.

That was fun too so over the next twelve months they practised more and played more gigs, wrote some originals and built up a stockpile of punk covers.

By the following summer Grabbit Phonya were tight! They took part in a local Battle of the Bands and won a prize to record a demo!

Alas all too soon, the cracks began to show. Priorities changed towards work, university, girlfriends, dope etc. Grabbit Phonya spluttered to a halt just after recording their one and only EP, aptly titled "The End is Nigh".

Nowadays Turner has a masters in Engineering, Shorty writes and directs his own films, Jamie plays drums for Numskull http://www.myspace.com/numskullrocks and Daniel, like all singers do when their band splits up, performs once in a while as a 'solo artiste' (He goes busking and listens to Bob Dylan a lot)!

Sometimes he also writes rock songs and gets Jamie and whoever else is handy to play them with him under the banner of the ol' name...
