Instrumental cover of Opeth's masterpiece. I desperately need Mikael Akerfeldt for vocals!
Axe-FX LA Metal model
Same track as the Mark IV version, but using the new IIC+ amp in the AxeFX.
This is the intro to Dream Theater's Metropolis Pt. 1, double-tracked JPMM direct into the AxeFX (7.0) over a backing track. I used my normal Mark IV rhythm patch for this.
This is a short excerpt of the Judas Kiss track I did, with only the Mark IV tracks.
Same track as before, but using the Axe-Fx direct instead of the Mark IV. L is DasMetal through SM-57/German cab, R is USA Lead 2 through MD-421/Cali cab.
The solo to Time, recorded using a JPMM6 + Axe-Fx over backing track from gilmourish.net
Rhythm track to the new Metallica song. Hellraiser 6 > Mark IV EL34 > Recto 2x12 > Audix i5 > ULN2 > Cubase Studio 4
A test recording of the Killswitch version (more or less) with Mark IV. Hellraiser C1 -> Mark IV -> Mesa 2x12 -> Audix i5 -> ULN2 -> ProTools.
Here's a short intro to Eye Of the Beholder with the i5 (MusicMan Axis Sport -> Mark IV w/EL-34s -> Mesa Horizontal Recto 2x12). Drums are EZDrummer w/DFH EZX.
Test with Audix i5. Sounds much fuller than the 57. Same mic position, amp settings, guitar, and room.
A mic test of the SM-57 with the Mark IV. Sounds extremely thin and nasally!
The same riff once again, this time played with my Mark IV (again with Axis guitar & 2x12 Mesa cab)
Same as previous take, but re-tracked with my F-50.
A driving riff I was working on with harmonies.
The best (short) Mark IV tone I've yet recorded
No, not the Metallica song, but one I wrote back in '89 and re-recorded.
