NEWS   Just getting started here. Keep an ear out for more music in the near future. I'm always composing something, amongst other hobbies so sometimes it takes me a while to update things. Cheers.

Hello. I am Darrin Smith. I am a hobbiest for the most part, and enjoy creating various kinds of orchestral music, though sometimes other genres as well. Here you will find a few pieces, most of them fairly old. Keep looking back as once in a while I will add another song or too, but I also spend a lot of time on cg. Time is not always on my side.
Why this name?
I used to use Dragon North on mp3.com before they went down the crapper, but now I figure I'll just use my own name. Probably for the best.
Do you play live?
Nope. Would be impossible. Though I'd love to have my stuff played by a live orchestra. Can't see that happening though.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet and mp3 format amongst other formats brings music intot he home in a way never before possible, and certainly hurts lables that refuse to adapt. The internet has brought a revolution to the music industry, arguably for the better.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not likley to happen with this type of music.
Your influences?
Major influences are Basil Poledouris, James Horner, Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams, Danny Elfman, and a slew of others. Even Glenn Stafford from Blizzard Entertainment for his music for Warcraft 2 some years back. Used to love that music. Always found it inspiring.
Equipment used:
I use EWQLSO Silver Edition, JV 2080, M-Audio Delta 66, and Cakewalk Sonar.
Anything else...?
