Solve For X
NEWS   News! August 8, 2005
2 Days ago, Steve recorded a spoken word, and acoustic track for the Solve For X CD. Yesterday we recorded 'Erin Does Pills, Pt. 2' which is also acoustic, but still has electric bass. We also recorded 2 joke songs, one called 'PopTarts' and the other was a medley of old skool rap covers, including NWA's 'F*** Tha Police', Sir-Mix-A-Lot's 'Baby Got Back', and Public Enemy's 'Fight The Power'. We will probably use one joke song on the CD, either one of these, or one of 2 older ones that we have. We are also going to put together a music video for a 'single' of one of the songs on our CD. We have 3 concepts we will pick from so we might even do 2! Wow! A fall release is still in order. Thats it.

I know theres been no updates for a while. tough shit. Writing for the EP Has finished, and the recording will be finished soon too. We have cover art for the CD, but still no title yet. When we are finished with everything, we will be taking some time off, for reasons that if we wanted you to know we would tell you. So the future of Solve for X is still up in the air, but the CD will be released regardless. Also, there is SpareChange news. There is finally another band besides us! But Steve is a member, surprise, surprise. Well without further, introducing the newest SpareChange Records artist..........................Wyld Stallyns! You heard it right. Wyld Stallyns. This immensely Bill and Ted influenced band is meant to be what Bill and Ted Wanted their band, the Wyld Stallyns, to be before they turned SOFT ROCK in the end of Bogus Journey. Si it is mostly old school metal that has Bill and Ted Themed lyrics and antics. Party On Dudes!

News! July 7 2005
Im kind of late on this, but, our JSNC cover of Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2 has been scrapped, and will not be featured on our EP, and likely will not be released. We may re-record the guitar on it and remix it with the drum and bass tracks we originally recorded. Oh yeah and we uploaded our song 'Intro' to our soundclick.com page, so you should check it out if you havent already. Thats all.

July 1- ABITW and Intro were mixed. The new song intro has been uploaded, and will be on our CD. ABITW has NOT been uploaded because I (Steve) am having some after thoughts of the recording. It probably will not be on the CD or uploaded because Im beginning to not really like it a whole lot, even though the mixing came out right. I think it will eventually be re-recorded, because I still want to cover the song and make it different, but the version we have now has some sloppy parts in the guitar playing, and I think I f***ed up in the solo and i think i want to redo it completely. -Steve

June 27- On Saturday we recorded a new song that will likely be the first song on our EP, bacause it makes a good intro. We also finished an old song that was recorded before Solve For X was in existance. It was the only recorded JSNC track, and the bass was done by Joe. JSNC is now a Solve For X project, and we will like ly record more cover songs with Josh Menard on rythm guitar. The track we finished is a cover of Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2) originally by Pink Floyd. Both tracks will be mixed this week and then most likely be uploaded to this page.

June 21- A new song is uploaded, called Constant Change. It was 'Corey Vizard Is A Fat Untalented Smelly Piece of Shit', but was rewritten over the weekend and recorded, and it will be on our EP, coming this fall.

June 18- Its official: Bean has left Solve for X, and Joe has replaced him. We have also began our own independent record company called SpareChange Records. We may be recording a few (48) songs today and tomorrow. They will kick ass (or genius?). But our main focus is 'Corey Vizard Is a fat Untalented Smelly piece of Shit'. And we might have yet another member, whos a big scary Goth (lol).

June 15- School ends tomorrow, and well be working all summer. We plan on recording a couple of songs within the next week or so, including : another instrumental song, An epic joke song called your Grandpa Goes to College (it will be split into many seperate parts),Another song in the style of 'Erin Does Pills' called 'Corey Vizard is a fat Untalented Smelly Piece of Shit', and covers of ACDCs TNT and the Misfits' Halloween. Well keep you posted, although we may have special plans for the cover of Halloween, but we wont say anything else about that yet. Also, there may be a new member of Solve for X, but nothings final.......

June 10- We released our self titled demo at school, and it has a good reaction so far. We'll have to wait till next week for more feedback on it though.

We are Solve For X, and we play metal. Ummm, heres our members:

Steve :guitar, vocals, and drum programming
Joe (Saf, or.... the Sizzle): bass

We released our demo at school on June 10 and it has 2 songs, Erin Does Pills, and This Used To Be A Love Song. We plan on making a whole EP, but Bean (our first bassist) who was in the band for the making of the demo, has left, and was replaced by Joe. We are still friends with Bean, and he may even return to Solve For X in the future, but not any time soon.
Why this name?
Steve was talking to Joe ( at the time a friend of the band, now a member) and the subject of math came up, and Steve thought Solve for X was a cool name.
Do you play live?
No, because we need to find a drummer.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Its definitely a good thing. Ive discovered a lot of great through the internet.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I don't see that happening any time soon, but we would probably do it.
Band History:
We started the band because Steve wrote a couple of songs and wanted to play them in a band. Steve has had 2 bands before Solve For X, they are Nuns With Guns and JSNC. Nuns With Guns was with vocalist Corey Vizard and drummer Garrett Zeveska (Steve's brother). Steve quit the band in February of 05' because of Corey's lack of involvement. Corey raps now and he sucks, but still managed to get signed to a local label. Steve and Corey were best friends, but now are sworn enemies. JSNC was formed in March of 05 with Josh Menard, and JSNC is still in existence, and we may continue work on that band soon, or Josh may join Solve For X. Solve For X was formed in May when Steve decided to start another band because he had a few songs written that wouldn't fit with JSNC. So he asked Seth Carlson (aka Bean) to join a band and Solve For X was soon formed. Seth has now left the band and has been replaced by Joe
Your influences?
Metal is our influence, vocally and instrumentally, our music portrays it. We listen to a lot of stuff, from Cannibal Corpse to Pink Floyd to The Misfits, but metal is what we do best.
