All music here written and recorded by Keith Hunniford, who is looking for like minded musicians. Minimum needs are a bass player and drummer, although additional guitarist a possibility. Perfect candidates are excelent musicians who can pick things up quickly, would like to play live, and want to do it for fun. If you like the music and want to walk into a ready-to-go lineup, then this let's talk. Backing vocal skills desired. Looking for people who are good at what they do and enjoy, or are ready to rediscover their love of live music. Business professionals who are ready to dust the cobwebs off their instruments and get back to what really matters once a week a perfect fit! Commitment level would be 1 evening / week to either practice or gig. Someone with knowledge and contacts in the Denver scene a bonus. Lame ass unreliable pot heads need not apply ;-) Keith is a successful Internet entrepeneur. Born and raised in Ireland, he now lives in Denver, Colorado. As a semi professional musician in Brussels, Belgium in the late 90s, he enjoyed writing and performing mostly solo accoustic sets. Now, as you'll hear when you listen to he is getting back in his rock roots with a new rock twist.. and a hint of 80's metal. Playing music in a tight band is an incredible release. If you are a great musician and are looking for that release - check out the tracks. Ranging in feel from the hard edge of to the almost "unplugged" spirit of there's a solid basis for a live set here, and lots of room for your individualism to build on what are in essense one-man home studio demo recordings.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Not right now - that's what I'm working towards though.. hard to play this live by myself!
Your musical influences
I'm an 80's rocker at heart. I remember listening to Dokken, "It's not Love" for the first time and being mesmerized. All that 80's guitar stuff I like - as long as the vocal is melodic. By the time I actually got around to playing live though it was mid 90s, and my style of music was dead. I wrote what I would describe as "Acoustic Angry Ironic" for a while and played in Brussels Belgium. Since moving to the US in 1999 I have done very little - until recently, when I've started to write and record new rock style pieces.
What equipment do you use?
I like guitars. I have lots. I have a great Seagull acoustic which is great for recording. Electics include a Parker Fly ( interesting technology but isn't a rocker guitar ) an George Lynch ESP Kamikazee II ( great for drop D tuning ) , and a very cheap Keith Brawley 212 which is so good it's scary. Most recent purchase is a 7 string Washburn purchased dirt cheap used. If Satan played guitar, he would play this one.
Anything else?
If you like the sound in these recordings then two things you need to know about. Firstly, the drums are from real acoustic drum loops bought from BetaMonkeyMusic.com. You can't beat the sound and you can't beat the prices. Guitar sound.. this will suprise most guitar players - all of the guitar sound in these recordings have been recorded CLEAN. I split a clean singal out of the guitar and record it straight. All of these guitar sounds are created with a plugin - Izotope TRASH. It's awesome. If you are having trouble with your final mixes, then take all the need for skill out of it... record clean, and through your sound through this module in post production to get something that works with the rest of the tracks.
