DJ/Producer Diamond K got his start in the early 90's on Deco Records. Releasing his first song "Where Ya Boyfriend At?" while still a teenager in 1993, he got his first taste of the spot light, touring with Frank Ski and label mate Big Tony. In 1995, Diamond K formed his own label Pimphouse Music / High Rolla Records and began producing artist from his hometown Baltimore, Maryland. It was during this time that he produced back to back smashes like Are U Da Bomb and Hey U Knuckleheads. Then after turning several local artist in to household names around Baltimore, Diamond K set his sights on DJing, doing parties, mix shows on V-103(Baltimore) with Big Mike Johnson, Hammerjacks Live broadcast with Kenny B (X-1057), and WPGC (Washington DC) with DJ Flex and tons of mix tapes.

He released the Baltimore club classic Put Ya Leg Up and hit the road hard in Philadelphia, Washington and of course Baltimore. With residence in Baltimore and Atlanta Diamond K has also performed on stage with Missy Elliot, former Bad Boy Records artist Total & 112 to name a few.

Whether he is behind the turntables rocking the latest tunes for energetic party goers, or in the studio banging out his next hit record, Diamond K is a musical force to be dealt with. The compilation “Baltimore Versus Atlanta” hits stores 3/14/06 and features the hit “Make It Happen” (Baltimore Whisper Song). His Baltimore Club mix tapes Hammerjacks Classics 1-2 and 25 & Over Jam are both available now. With a new album and several new artists’ in the studio; look for more great music from Diamond K & High Rolla Records.

We recently sat down with Mr K. to ask him a few questions.
Why this name?
Diamond K sounds a lot better than Smooth D.
Do you play live?
I DJ parties all the time. I do mixed CD's once a month. I love mixing live nothing beats the rush of controlling thousands of people. I also do shows performing my music. I've been to alot of spots up and down the east coast.
One show that really sticks out for me was on Marylands Eastern Shore. It was with Da Horsemen and myself. It was really wild, the girls in the front were so hyped that they pulled the pants down of one of the guys....it was very, very wild. I could not get to crazy though because my son's mother was in the club.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet and like things is great for independent artists, we can really connect with our fans & make new ones. I am on my computer at least 2 hours a day.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probaly not. I like money over fame, and I like to be in control.
