Minerva Veil is a five-piece rock band whose members share a common goal – making evocative music that conjures an emotional response. There are many factors in the making of a good song, but when all but the most basic, essential elements are cut away, the only thing that matters is whether or not the song made you feel something. This has been the band’s mission from its inception, and shall always remain so.
Band History:
Minerva Veil began as a collaboration between founding members, Chris Robinson and Justin Young in April of 2004. The two slaved in Justin’s basement, writing and composing what they felt were some of the best, emotionally powerful songs they had ever written. In June of 2004, they felt the songs were ready for other members to enter the fold, and they began placing ads for other musicians. By late July, a lineup was set, and a set of edgy, alternative rock songs was refined and perfected. By August of the same year, the band had begun playing shows as often as possible, wherever they could. The band took a 5 day break in that month to record the demo, Idiom, which was used simply as a tool to promote and procure shows. Lineups changed, and grew more solid, and many shows followed, each to an exponentially larger crowd. In February of 2005, the band took time off from its practice and performance schedule to begin recording what was to become Momentum, the band’s first true release. Momentum encompasses everything that is Minerva Veil, conceptually, sonically, and visually, covering the bands broad range of influences, textures and emotions.
