Artist Statement

MEDIUM: Music, Photography, Food

I am a freelance photographer as well as a new age musician and an independent creative cook. I take pictures of life around me in any way that isn't contemporary. I make music that cannot be labeled with a genre. Though many have tried to claim it as Hip Hop, I have infused so many different inspirations that the end result can be classified in many ways. I create small banquets for personal and intimate parties ranging from 2-8 plates or buffet lines.

As a musician, I am self taught. I began at a young age asking my parents to change my name to Richie Valens after watching "La Bamba". At 19, I found Soundclick.com and became an active member of the community, learning rhyming techniques and in time, instrumentation and production. After collaborating with other artists, I was inspired to learn more natural instruments. I am currently teaching myself the keyboard and the guitar. I am inspired by Country, Hip Hop, Jazz, Classical, Gangsta Rap, R n B, Classic and Alternative Rock, Comedy and any music that can be performed live. I've created 2 albums and 2 mixtapes that are currently unavailable and am in the process of finishing my 3rd self-produced album, with 7 new mixtapes in line for release.

I enjoy being a creative picture taker. As a photographer I am a naturalist. I believe that any picture taken by any person is a form of art and should be appreciated. I respect the long-standing profession and evolved techniques but my style is to ignore everything before me to create what I have never seen before. I take pictures of landscapes and natural phenomenon. My pictures are currently not for sale.

I was raised in a middle-lower class home. I created meals with the least amount of resources possible, ranging from a basic turkey sandwich to a peanut butter and jelly burrito. I worked as a dishwasher under Chef Randy Torres at a private golf club in Murietta, California. By watching and assisting in any way I could, I learned basic culinary techniques as well as opening my eyes to the many styles of preparing food. I was inspired to bring the 4-star fine dining to my friends and family who could not afford it themselves. I am creating a menu and recipe book that can let my brothers and sisters in the barrios, ghettos, farm towns to enjoy an expensive tasting experience for the best price by preparing it themselves. There is no release date presently set for this book.

I've taught myself by watching, reading and listening to everything possible. When I'm gone, I hope to be remembered as a creative person. I feel obligated by life to spend every chance I have to enlighten. I will make you laugh, cry, smile and think.
