Jan has settled in Scotland but comes from a wide and varied background. His songs, a mix of alternative folk, progressive in nature and all things left of the middle, draw influence from all frequencies of the spectrum and he enjoys making acoustic guitar music with sweet melodies to moving piano pieces. All mixed in with a sprinkling of samples and pads from synthesisers. Never afraid to poke fun at life, life can be taken a little lighter if some of the heavy lyrics are read into to find a little off the wall humour. Full of melodies, moments and life, the music will take you along an emotive timeline until you’ve taken what you want from it.
Do you play live?
I play when i can at open mics and I had a support gig last year, something i'm hoping to do more of in the future.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is the single biggest change to music since Edison first recorded sound. I feel the biggest changes are yet to come in the way that we experience music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Do people still get signed these days? You hear a lot less about it. I would if the label was right.
