I started this soundclick so that I could start putting my new and original work up on it. The old soundclick (Diamonds In the Rough www.soundclick.com/bands/7/diamondsintherough.htm) is plagued with bad singing and bad mediocre guitar playing. This is for my more evolved work. Check it often because I'll be updating older songs and putting new ones up as soon as I can get them recorded.
Why this name?
The name was simple. My parents gave it to me.
Do you play live?
I'm still working my way up on the totem pole. I've played a song at a wedding and a couple of small performances at school, for friends, and etc., but nothing big...yet.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think sharing songs on the internet has helped a lot of aspiring artists/bands work their way up in the music business. A lot of no-name bands have hosted songs online, caught a label's eye, and well, you know the rest. All-in-all, music would be a lot less than it is without the net's help.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I like the Indy music idea. I don't know. I've never been a fan of becoming mainstream music, but then you've got to think...if music is how you're making your living and someone offers you a higher dollar contract than what you're making...wouldn't you take it?
Band History:
I don't have much history really. I've been writing since about...I'd guess 2000 or so...playing guitar seriously since about 2002. Other than that...my history is very little.
Your influences?
I have been influenced by my friends mainly. I really like a lot of different types of music, and they all helped mold my style, but I'm very versatile so I can't settle my influences in a couple of bands or a certain genre.
Equipment used:
Currently my equipment consists of a B.C. Rich Bronze Warlock Electric Guitar, an Austin Acoustic Guitar with a Duncan Performer amp pick-up, a ZOOM 5050II effects processor, and a Crate 15W amp. Nothing impressive!
Anything else...?
Stay tuned. Maybe I'll do a trick.
