Calin is an independent world fusion musician. He performs a coherent mixture of traditional themes, classic rock and Renaissance electronic on guitars and synthesizers.
Why this name?
I'm a single artist, Calin is my name.
Do you play live?
Unfortunately I can't play live because of the lack of musical gear, the poor local world fusion music scene in Romania and even the lack of good musicians.
But life in the studio is not such a bad thing. I'm thinking of my self as a painter who works only in his studio.
If you make it big..?
I'll continue to make good music.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Good music from independent artists will easier get to the audience.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the deal is good ...
Band History:
Cãlin has a 10 years rock bands experience. He started to play guitar back in 1990. Until 1992, he was singing and playing bass in various teenage thrash-death bands, achieving local popularity because of his incredible savage low voice. In 1993, he changed the instrument (from bass to electric guitar) and the style (from metal to 60's rock), founding another band, Hodoronc Tronc. Together with bass player Marius Ghinea and rapper Cassanova, Calin worked hard, developing a particular rap-rock style. Hodoronc Tronc released a demo tape in 1994 and the best accomplishment of the band was broadcasting on national TV of 2 of their video clips. After the Hodoronc Tronc episode, Calin founded a blues band together with other 4 musicians playing in Bucharest's clubs. In 1999, Calin finances and builds his personal PC based recording studio. The first clients of this recording studio are The Echoes, a band that Calin founded with the experienced singer Eugen Nagy.

All this past experience helped Calin to be prepared for his first totally self-release, the album "Radiant Shadows", where he actually did the entire job, from playing the instruments, to sound engineering, from CD cover design to web site building and act management.
