Scott Free here! Trying to stir up some local guys and get a hip hop scene goin' around here in eastern kentucky man. Want this to be like a hub for other dudes like me thats trying to get what their doin' heard by folks. Lookin for anybody that can rap or make a beat. I don't care if you bang on a table to do it or what. I just wanna light a fire under these cats to do something. Right now I got alot of raps over other guys beats. I REPEAT! I did NOT make the beats, I just write lyrics man. I just rap! And I wanna find some dudes thats doing this too. And show them that even if we cant make a buck right now maybe by showing other folks what were doin we can. And if just rappin on some soundclick beat for practice and posting it for a couple cats to hear is how we do it then Hell Yeah!! Lets make music!
Why this name?
Just a play on words ya? I'm gonna come off scott free . Sounds like your some untouchable dude or something. Always been called by my middle name, Scott, anyhow so why not flip it up. Regardless if i make a dime or not I'ma still be Scott!
Do you play live?
Would love to play live but when you dont have a music scene - when you aint got local clubs- that wanna hear you or the cash to pull it al together - it ain't gonna happen. Plus like i said before we aint got a producer to work with - or the capital to own some beats. We're working on it. Trying to find some DJ's or something. But right now it aint happen fast enough.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Give dudes like a me a chance to be heard, maybe. The internet creates a place for artists, no matter how big or small, to communicate! It's great. If not for the internet I'd naver be able to even find a beat I could rap over. I mean the closest record store is 45 miles away. You got Wal-Mart and stuff but you know, that aint like a record shop.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If anyone was interested in letting me make the kinda music I want to - I'd jump on a deal! But all this aint so much about cash right now as it is letting artist be heard. I mean if I could get a dozen dudes round here that wanna make music, and let's say a couple them cats make beats theyself. Well whats to stop us from flippin' it and saying "come on man lets press 100 couples and double up the investment"

Your influences?
B.I.G. & Tupac,Dre, Haystak, Eminem, Nappy Roots, Kanye West, Jay-z, Ghostface Killah as far as hip hop goes alot of the duds that influenced me where the dudes I admired you know. The cats I thought was best at what they do. But I was raised on all kinda music. I love the Beatles, the Eagles, lotta old country cats, Al Green, Pendergrass. I really just love music man!
Favorite spot?
Johnson County !! Kicked back on the porch drinking a cold Miller Lite - or sippin on something. Ain't no better place to be on earth man!
Equipment used:
Recording on next to nothing. Busted up PC and some cheap mic's. But best believe I'm working on some equipment. It's coming!
