This is Tek Luciano of FAMN Click; Montreal's #1 Hip-Hop Act of 2007 voted by you the people. I basically represent apart of Hip-Hop music that seems to be dormant in most of these "rappers"/circus acts that people seemingly enjoy listening to today, which obviously enough upon first listen is talent. I'm one of the rawest, most diverse lyricists out here and no topic is too touchy for one of my 16's to rip apart. From political rap all the way to the systematic destruction of emcees, my song range truly encompasses the entire field of Hip-Hop music. But enough boasting, go ahead and listen to the music and see for yourself, and once again KEEP HIP-HOP REAL!
Why this name?
I've been Tek (Short for Tekneek) since I was about 12. Luciano comes as a form of tribute to the late Lucky Luciano, who was a boss in the world of organized crime, much like I am in the world of Hip-Hop.
Do you play live?
Of course that's what this game is all about! We've been doing mad shows around Montreal promoting our new album, Things Done Changed. We've also been doing shows in Ottawa and other cities and are currently in the midst of a 4-city tour with Psynlangwage and the FBI Jedeyez.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The net lets those of us who aren't fortunate enough to have a lot of money, or connections, be heard on an international level. It's a good form of publicity so for an aspiring artist it's definitely a beautiful thing. However if you're a greedy record label exec, or struggling artist, the whole free download thing can definitely present a pretty major problem in terms of record sales.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends. A lot of labels wanna build you up as somebody you're not and portray you as some stupid ass gimmick...I'm not down with that I stay true to myself within my music and in real life. But if they wanted the rawest skills and pure talent that I possess then hell yea I'd sign a f***in deal.
Band History:
I've been spittin' for years man, since I was 12 to be exact. I earned my respect battling older cats around the way and putting out tracks in Chat-Town and Texas and letting dudes know that once you hear the flow, you can't deny me. I recently turned 19 and I feel like I'm in my prime right now. FAMN Click was rated #1 Hip-Hop Act in Montreal for 2007, and we just released our highly anticipated first album Things Done Changed, check it out!
Your influences?
