Why this name?
My name is my penname Spife Knockturn has two parts: "Spife" was a character in a short story written by me. "Knockturn" was from Knockturn Alley in the Harry Potter series.
Do you play live?
I play in bands. I always remember the times I perform my original songs in front of people.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is the new information superhighway. Musicians get many chances to be heard online. Mp3 is a breakthrough. I can't imagine music without mp3s.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, provided I control my content.
Band History:
Spife Knockturn started writing silly songs at the age of 8. He grew older and his compositions came out of their shell. He formed Stickers n' Stitches with his brother. He wrote his high school batch's graduation song.
Your influences?
The Smashing Pumpkins, Michelle Branch, The Cranberries, Metallica, Blur, Bush, Moby, Green Day.
Favorite spot?
In front of the computer.
Equipment used:
Electric guitar, distortion and wah pedal, the computer and all its wonders.
