A blend of Rock, Jazz, Ambient, and Celtic influences, John’s instrumentals can be described as “New Age with an edgeâ€쳌 and "edge with a side order of New Age." His music has a unique flavor of melodies, textures, and moods, peppered with blazing guitar work. Reviewers often compare him to G3ers Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Eric Johnson. He has been nominated for numerous awards on Garageband, and has been voted “Most Versatileâ€쳌 and “Prowar Championâ€쳌 on Guitarwar.com.
His new independently released CD, "I of the Storm," is now available at several online music stores and download services (e.g. CD baby, iTunes, Napster).
In his spare time, Dr. John Kline is a psychologist, and has published several scientific articles on the neurophysiology of emotion and consciousness.

Why this name?
My mom and dad chose it for me.
Do you play live?
I love playing live. I haven't played out as much as I would since moving to Mobile. This is a hazard of being an academic gypsy: It takes awhile to find band mates wherever you move. In Tallahassee, I played with the Jay Wells Band... I miss those guys, and we had a blast playing live. Since arriving in Mobile, I have played with Bipolar Express (with Ken Sylvia and Tommy Thompson), and have made guest appearance with friends' bands.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's complicated. Internet and mp3s make it easier to distribute music, but now everyone and their dog has a state of the art studio. Take my dogs for instance: I can't keep them out of the studio, and they are always happy to help.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends on the contract. I try not to sign up for things that leave me screwed.
