Why this name?
It was a song title that Kevin, the singer, had written previous to joining the band.
Do you play live?
we have played in western North Carolina, Spartanburg, SC, and Greensboro, NC. Every show has been appreciated and rocked the f*** out.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Maybe slightly, but making money shouldn't be the intention of the musician, it pisses me off when I hear Metallica, who sells 50 million albums and has 50 million dollars, complain about mp3 downloads. That's how music spreads around, if a kid downloads you and likes it, he may go buy your sh*** to have the complete package.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If it were the right one, We're really into the independent stuff where you have more say-so in your sound.
Band History:
Malicious State was born back in 2003 by three friends, Pat Stover, Brent Price and Sam Neff, who shared a musical vison and wanted to make it a reality. The vison was to create the most brutal and beautiful music possible. Over the years Malicious State has been through several line-up changes and has since grown in terms of sound and purpose. At first it started out as jam sessions between friends just looking for something to do on the weekends. After awhile it became an entity that people became aware of and became connected with. Now it is a force that is looking to dominate everything in its path. The name Malicious State did not come until screamer Kevin Faini came onboard and gave a voice and attitude to the music. After that the band did nothing but improve. Now being set with a secure 4-man core be prepared for a journey that blends brutality and beauty into something mind bending and phenominal.
