Two people. Two men. Two childhood friends
(Jeff and JD) aren't just focused on making "good" music, but music with depth, meaning, originality, and longevity that capture the minds of those who really listen and take a stand in the movement. Growing up on the Northside of Dallas, Texas [also known as Nawf Dallas],
Jeff and JD were both heavily into music. Participating in the band from grade school all the way to high school and college, it was evident that these two not only wanted to just play instruments, but create and produce the sounds they heard. With their imaginative and creative ideas, the art form of seduction for their vivid touch of Soul And R&B in their melodies and their acoustic, urban-city, but yet, southern taste for Hip-Hop, makes these two men with mission...to resurrect the art form of music, reach to the people, embrace the masses as they are on their to getting their dreams out....

Why this name?
Wanting to be unique and different from all the common names that already out there, "lil" this and "lil" that we decided to come up with some weird, but also kool and laid-back name that best described us so we came up with the name "Visionikz" which uses the word, "vision" which is what we have for the music industry.
Do you play live?
We are strictly producers however, we do occasionally drop some lines to some of our more favorite compositions.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
There is no doubt MP3s have changed the music industry in many ways and will undoubtedly be the future of the digital era and either the demise or reduction in the number of record labels. This is one of our driving points behind our music. A lot of music nowadays is pure crap because many artists and the record companies of course are so focused on money that the quality of music has gone down the drain. They are basically just waiting for one or two hits to make their millions and then move on to the next thing. CD sales are down because the public realizes that there is a lot of crap on the market so rather than waste 10-20 dollars on an entire album they download singles as they please. However many people will go buy the album after they determine they like many of the singles they have downloaded. Record labels need to embrace this fact and start making money. We believe that mp3s can benefit an artist or producer because it allows anyone with internet access to hear your work from any where around the world which leads to a bigger more abstract fan-base, but it can(has) also lead to piracy and can eventually cause the artist to loose money. "Pay for downloads" sites are a good way to get your music out and get paid at the same time even though it may not be as much as a CD sale. There are other ways that money can be made in the digital era they just have yet to be discovered.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
There is a very slight chance we would if we really got the label to negotiate with us. We do not want to be a quarterly earnings figures in their portfolio. We are artists not numbers on a chart and we don't want to be pushed to make music beyond our own pace.
Band History:
We have been producing since 1999. We started probably not much differently that everyone else experimenting with keyboards and computer programs and eventually discovered that we had potential talent. However unlike many "new" artists we decided that rather than hitting the industry with one song we believed would be a hit, we reserved ourselves and built up an impressive collection of music that covers more than your average producer does. We appreciate all types of music not just whats hot at the moment. In most cases you can tell how deep someones love is for music by the way their own music sounds. Music is our passion and our life and we will be with it til the day we say goodbye to this life.
Your influences?
Music that influences is music that gives us the idea to be original and not scared to experiment. REAL MUSIC to us is anything that is different. Ryan Leslie, The Neptunes, The Dream, Timbaland, Tim & Bob are some of our influential producers because they share that same vision of branching out and not being afraid to instill change in this mundane music industry. They have all brought something different to the table and with great success.
